San Ignacio, Belize

From Tobacco Caye, we took a ferry over to Dangriga where we caught a bus to Belmopan.  (There's good food at the restaurant across the street from the Dangriga terminal.) The ride was beautiful as was the connection from Belmopan to San Ignacio.  Bus rides with rain forest covered-mountains on both sides is a good way to forget you're on a school bus.

San Ignacio is a jumping off point for a bunch of ruins and cave tours, so there's a corresponding slew of tour agencies.  There's also a few good restaurants.  We stayed a few nights to do a day trip to Tikal and the famous ATM cave tour.

Where We Stayed: Nefry's Retreat.  It's 5-10 minute walk from the restaurants and bars, but it's cheap and really nice.  Internet, hot water, A/C.

Where We Ate:  Mr. Greedy's. Good Italian/bar food.  Ko-ox Han nah.  Good food, organic, makes their own cheese.

What We Did:  ATM cave tour, Tikal day trip
