Placencia, Belize

After our Honduran fiasco, we needed some beach time so we dropped anchor in Placencia.  From Punta Gorda, we took a bus up to Independence and caught a water taxi out to the peninsula.

Placencia has been just what the doctor ordered.  Our cabañas were located right on the beach.  The town itself is super laid back and definitely has the Caribbean vibe.  I'd definitively recommend Placencia as a pit stop for any Belizean travels.

Where We Stayed:  Julia's Guest House.  Clean and comfortable, hot water, internet, friendly staff, on the beach, 100 feet from bars and restaurants (but doesn't get too noisy)

Where We Ate:  MJ's.  Good Caribbean food.  Jerk Hut.  Good jerk chicken.  Tipsy Tuna's.  Had traditional Garifuna drumming the night we ate there.

What We Did:  Enjoyed the beach, swam, checked out the starfish, rays, jellies, and conches near the shore, drank Belikins
