Playa El Tunco, El Salvador

After two weeks of rains in El Salvador, the storm lifted just in time for our visit.  It hasn't rained since we got here.  Meanwhile, the country has been busy repairing the damage.  After a full day of sunshine, we decided to brave the trip out to the coast.  On the way, we saw countless bulldozers and dump trucks cleaning up land slides.  But... the roads were open.

Playa El Tunco has been developed.  All of sudden we found ourselves in a surfing 'brahs' enclave complete with dreads and other Rastafarian cliches.  Regardless of the clientele, it's still a great place to hangout, surf, and catch the sunset.

Where We Stayed:  Papaya Lodge.  Clean.  Pool.  Internet.

Where We Ate:  D'rocas for drinks.  Street vendors for food.

What We Did:  Surf, watch people surf, gaze at beautiful sunsets
