Well, my two year stint in Panama has come to a close. Before returning to the US, I'll be traveling with four other volunteers from my Peace Corps training group. We're going to hit every country in Central America over the next six weeks.
For those that read my Peace Corps blog, you may find this blog a bit lacking in introspection. For starters, the five of us are no longer Peace Corps volunteers, and as such we've donned our tourist caps. Like it or not, we're backpackers. So the blog will be more of a travel journal. Places to go, things to see, photos, comparisons of local beers. In other words, the highlights.
Conocer is a verb in Spanish that means to understand a place. We don't really have an equivalent in English. My hope is that, while it won't be a deep conocer level as we breeze through each country, we'll still be able to take in the regional flavor and come away with a lot of great stories and a better understanding of Central America.
So here's to the adventure, to the next six weeks traveling through Central America with a great group of guys!
Bon voyage! Stay safe, please.
